A robot is a mechanical device designed to achieve complex tasks. They may be capable of working autonomously via programming or artificial intelligence, or remotely controlled by an operator.
Robots can take on many forms, including being humanoid androids, zoomorphic, or entirely unlike any living being.
There is little consensus on what attributes separates a robot from other kinds of machinery, however it’s generally accepted that robots must be programmable, have the ability to perceive their surroundings via use of sensors, and be capable of movement.
